All the new items for Fall, that has Retro Lady and Business Lady collections in it, are made of silk chiffon of different density, mostly 75D. The need in search and development off the whole line of light and breezy clothes came from discovering of a certain pattern for the sleeves.
My fascination and complete adoration of the Victorian and Edwardian fashion is well known. For long time I was searching for any patterns and other detail information on how the clothes of 19th century were done. Finally, I was in luck! The edition of a certain fashion magazine, like Burda of our time, was found in the depths of internet (thanks to ever growing database of Pinterest). Oh, there was no limit to my happiness! I had translated and explained it to my tailor how to make this old patterns into the final product.
In my vision I saw the beautiful cuff sleeves in very breezy way, that gives the form of the final item a very elegant and easy look. First came shirts with buttons and pointy collars, such as Emma and Amy, with the combination of silk satin for bodice and cuffs and very thin chiffon for the upper part and puffy sleeves itself. Then it wasn’t enough for me and I started with designing more simple and relaxing tops in gipsy style with off shoulder neck line. Though the thin chiffon fabric wasn’t working here anymore, so I started my search for denser silk. So the Lana top was born! Love it to the bits! The colors that I found were marvelous! The Lilac, the Turquoise… But of course there had to be darker variations – Navy, Black, Chocolate…
With my hands on this particular fabric I could not stop just there… I wanted it to be everywhere! Goldie tops, Tasha tops… It was not long that I decided to go for skirts.. Xandra and Ella are the only short skirts I have so far. And now there is a new Resort collection developing of the same fabric, that will be available not long before New Years season.
